Folks who only view the Wiccs blog for news
will not be aware yet that Paul suffered a heart attack last week. The good news is he is back home recovering, although trying to
make him behave is interesting as sitting still doesn't come easy for him.
Wiccs
volunteer DJ is helping out with phone calls and emails on our behalf as
and when she can, while I keep up with the day to day business
here, so please be aware if you call or email it may be picked up by DJ instead of us, and you
might have to wait a bit longer for a response if she needs to run
something past Paul or myself. :-)
Paul is going to be out of action for a quite a while, and folks have been rallying round to help with the day to day chores. If any of our adopters / Wiccs family would like to help in even a little way during this time we would be very grateful. If you send us a quick email to: wiccaweys@aol.com DJ will be in touch to give you details.
This does mean that for a little while we won't be able to take in as many waiting dogs as we would normally. We need to keep the day to day chores to a level that I can cope with on my own should other folks not be able to help for a few days. Obviously this will mean that homings will slow up. That is a sad fact. When there aren't new faces appearing on the website regularly, the calls always dry up as people look past the longer stay dogs, presuming they must have severe issues, when in fact a lot of the time its down to the fact they aren't the sort of dog who is going to give a new person a 'hearts and flowers' moment - as in throw themselves at a person saying adopt me. They need to get to know and trust a new person. Lots of dogs are overlooked for this reason.
Folks who live a distance away, and are unable to give hands on day to day help as this time, have asked if there is anything else they can do to help. There is one thing, and its the one thing I hate asking for help with. It is making a donation. When the homings and enquiries slow up, it automatically means that the adoption donations dry up too. It is those that keeps Wiccs running on a weekly basis. We still have food and vets bills to pay amongst other things while Paul gets better and we run at a reduced level for a while, and there are various ways that people can choose to make a donation to help us and the dogs at this immediate time.
The options are:
1) Making a Paypal donation to: wiccaweys@aol.com
2) Making a donation via BACS / Bank Transfer - please email for bank details to wiccaweys@aol.com
3) Making a donation directly to our Vet account. Please contact Vets4Pets, Kettering on 01536 511500 to make a payment to the Wiccaweys account.
4) Make a donation to the feed bills, there are two ways to do this:
a) Albion Meat products - Tel: 01386 554095
Please say you are making a donation to the account for Wiccaweys Rescued Border Collies.
b) Dodson & Horrell Country Store - Tel: 01933 461539
Please say you are making a donation to the account for CAREY - Wiccaweys Rescued Border Collies, or you can specifically pay for a sack or sacks of Kennel Crunch.
We really, really appreciate any help that anyone can give, whether it be financial or hands on support and we both have been touched by all the good will and get well soon messages Paul has received.
Thank you all. xxxxx
